Infant Curriculum
(6 Weeks – 18 Months)
At Sammie’s Sunshine Academy, our Infant Program is intentionally designed to support the whole child—emotionally, physically, cognitively, and spiritually—during the most foundational season of life. We believe that learning begins with secure relationships, loving care, and meaningful experiences that nurture trust and curiosity.
Our caregivers partner closely with families to honor each infant’s unique rhythm while providing a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment.
Our Approach
We use a blended Montessori-informed and relationship-based approach, grounded in research-based early childhood practices and guided by biblical principles of love, stewardship, and nurture.
“Train up a child in the way he should go…” (Proverbs 22:6)
This approach allows infants to explore freely while being supported by attentive caregivers who respond to cues, encourage independence, and promote healthy development.

Feeding and bottle routines guided by family preferences
Safe sleep practices in accordance with state and licensing guidelines
Tummy time and free-movement exploration
Music, gentle motion, and story time
Outdoor experiences when weather permits
Quiet moments for rest, comfort, and connection
This flexible approach allows infants to feel secure, supported, and cared for throughout the da

Our infant classrooms are filled with an atmosphere of peace, love, and gentle faith exposure. While infants are too young for formal instruction, we believe spiritual foundations are established through loving environments. This includes:
Soft worship music and calming songs
Spoken words of encouragement and gratitude
Caregivers modeling kindness, patience, and Christ-like love
We focus on nurturing the heart through care, connection, and consistency.

We believe parents are a child’s first and most important teachers, and we value strong family partnerships. Our caregivers:
Communicate daily about feeding, rest, and developmental milestones
Respect family routines and preferences
Work collaboratively with parents to support each child’s growth and development
This partnership creates continuity between home and school, fostering confidence, trust, and a sense of security for both children and families.
